Thank You OLM!

As you al know I've been in a EPA as me place for awhile! I ordered some pumpkins from dear Marie of OLM! I love her Prims. While I love my flat ties...Marie stuck in a little something extra to make me smile! How can you NOT smile when you look at this guy? Thank you so much Marie. Your thoughtfulness warms my heart and makes me smile too!

Karen's Challenge...

I've been sneaking a peak at all the fun little posts about why everyone has started their blog.  Mine had nothing to do with prims!  Not even close.  It had nothing to do with finding more creative people like myself...because as you all know..I haven't a creative bone in my body!

Mine had everything to do with an amazing little by named Kaden that I was blessed with at the age of 40!  I was finished having babies.  13 years prior!  My "Old Baby", Seth, always told me he wanted a baby brother.  I always told him...not going to happen buddy!  Little did I know!  While the life "I" had planned for Kaden, the big boys, and I is nothing at all like the life I expected...the life God has given me is a good life.  And this little boy has given me more joy than I could possibly imagine.

When the big boys were little and they would say or do cute things...I would hear, you should write that down.  Of course I figured I'd remember everything forever.  Yea...not so much!  So this time...I was inspired by my old friend Rhea in California who had a blog.  I loved hers...and decided I can do this. I NEVER even expected to have followers!  It was for me to remember the things my little boy says and does..and that was it.

I NEVER expected to find so many friends that also share a love of primitive decorating.  Or feed my love of decorating with their one of a kind creations!  THAT was an added perk!  It still to this day amazes me that people come back time and time again to read my blog!  I mean I have nothing to offer..I make nothing...I don't do giveaways...it just awes me!

If I could say one thing to you Karen...it would be this...THANK YOU!  I often feel like...oh I don't have a picture of anything exciting, or I haven't made anything.  BUT getting back to the basics...doing this post...reminded me of WHY I started this blog.  To remember my baby boy growing up!  So post away Katie...even if you have no pictures! (Which I really usually don't because I STILL haven't gotten a new camera OR a new computer, lol!)

Thank you friends...for being you...and coming back from time to time!

Tough Times...

I know I've been missing again for awhile.  Sorry friends.  I'm going through some very hard personal issues, and truly seem to be struggling.  Just when you think you have the demons beat....they pop back up to get you.  Would you please just say a
Title prayer every once in awhile for me.  To help me be strong and heal!  Thanks.  Katie

Summer Summed Up...

I can't believe summer is almost over.  Where oh where did it go?  It's been a wonderful one here...although way to hot and humid!  I wanted to share a few of the pictures from some of our summer fun with you all!  Well...ok, only  our family vacation...because that's all that's downloaded on Seths computer, lol~

We did a family vacation up north this year.  This is the first time my sisters, brother, and their families have done this.  It will NOT be the last.  We had a wonderful time.  We rented three cabins footsteps from the lake.  The kids stayed busy playing in the row boat, swimming, digging in the sand and catching HUGE frogs!  The adults stayed busy relaxing in the sun and playing games around the campfire.  We all took turns preparing a meal at nights...so it was truly amazingly relaxing.  The day we returned my brother called to say...only 364 days until Mercer next year!  We all agreed...we are doing this EVERY year!

Kaden got to practice his pontoon driving skills...

Seth drank beer...
Spun in circles...
Tried to hit a ball....
And fell down...
Jess and I did laundry.  Hey...there can be Bud Light signs in a laundromat..really!
On a pontoon..makings waves and catching rays up on the roof..
Jumpin off the back don't act like you don't want too!!!!!
It was a rare moment that this little row boat sat here!
Normally it was out here...filled with various kids!
Zach and Jess...
Seth and Taylor...
Kaden and his best bud, Cousin Carson!  They are nine months apart!
The huge frogs the kids were catching.  And terrorizing us "ladies" with!
Campfire girls..Taylor, Me, my sister Beth, and Jess...
Bonfire Boys...My Brother in Laws, Tom, Aaron, my Zach and Seth in the back!
Zach made a chair in the sand.  He's so creative!
Lucas (Jess's youngest) let the big boys bury him!
T

The whole famn damily!  Look out Mercer we will be back!!!!! Notice my brother showing off his...chest!  Nice Pat...real nice!  There's always got to be one in the picture!

Thanks for stopping in and sharing our vacation!  Katie

Hello Long Last Friends...

Sorry I have been MIA for so long. Seems the lazy days of summer are just not true! We have been busy with baseball, swimming lessons, and just trying to stay cool! I can't believe Baby K will be six on Tuesday! Where have the past six years gone! Weare planning a pirate party with his friends. He's so excited! It seems my baby boy has grown up,so much this summer. Swimming lessons were a huge success. We went from barely putting our face in the water to two weeks older doggy paddling all over, swimming under water, back floats, front floats, and jumping off the diving board! It's so much fun seeing his excitement as he masters see skills! He's also lost his first tooth! Oh baby boy stop growing up so fast!

Oh what a night...

Many of you are aware I am a labor and delivery nurse.  I have been in this profession for over sixteen years now...except for my brief hiatus as an Assisted Living Director and then Home Health Nurse.  I missed the cries of a new baby...and had to return!  The majority of my days are amazing.  Last night however, I had the worst patient I've ever had in 16 years.  Not sure if it was actually the patient or the patients mother...but let me just say...OMG!  NEVER in 16 years have I refused to care for a patient.  But last night...last night was the first.  I know this poor girl was terrified, and can you believe...she didn't know labor would hurt!  Yea...I know...anyone that's given birth knows "hurt" doesn't even BEGIN to explain what you feel!  I have dealt with crazy, I have dealt with ignorant, I have dealt with mean, and selfish, and you name it.  Last night...was a first though.  As the supervisor put it...I bet you feel like your working ghetto...I reminded her I DID work ghetto..and I'd take ghetto over her anyday!!!

Friends..just say a prayer for this girl and her family.  And the little life that's probably by now entered into it.  It was very obvious there was one heck of an unusual family dynamic here...and it's one of those situations where most would say I dont know how you do it.  Unfortunately after this many years...you really can only do one thing...and that's what I've done...ask for prayer.  Because that is THE option!  And if you wouldn't mind...put a little bleep in there for me too...to help me remember that it's really not "me" but whatever ghosts haunted this family!
