Eclectic 6...

When I lived in California I met a wonderful friend.  Her name is Rhea.  I loved Rhea..Rhea also provided child care for Kaden.  Kaden loved Rhea...he also loved NayNay, one of Rhea's twin boys that was the same age as Kaden.  Rhea was the perfect fit in our lives and helped me out beyond help.  I was pretty much all alone out there.  She welcomed us into her home, invited us to family events...and gave me beer and pizza when I got home from work!  Now THAT's a friend.    She drank wine out of a box...and always had some type of hilarious craziness going on!  I'll never forget the day I came home and there sat Mr. Bob...her hubby...in front of the house with a gun.  I know, I know..you are all thinking WHAT...but if you knew Rhea...this would not have fazed you.  Bob was hunting...a gopher...that was tearing up his yard!  We laughed about it forever.  I still remember Rhea saying "wouldn't it be cool if Nathan and Kaden stay best friends all through school."  It made me so sad...because I knew, at that time...that I may be going back to Wisconsin.  It still makes me sad when I think about it.

I always admired Rhea's blog.  It was awesome.  My Mom loved Rhea's blog.  I told Rhea she needed to make a blog for me.  I loved it when she'd record events of the day that involved the boys.  Events that I was missing because I was working.  One of the best things ever was a little video that she recorded of Nay Nay and Kaden...in the bedroom singing and dancing.  They didn't know she was recording them.   So..when I saw a little diddy on one of Rhea's haunts..asking to add the tab to my sidebar, and then post about why I started blogging...well I had to do it!  I just had to!

I started my little blog to record all the funny things that Kaden says on a daily basis.  I've already raised four boys...and everyone always said you should write that down.  I always thought I'd remember these things.  A few...I do...but most..I don't.  So...I did it.  I dug into my computer and figured out how to start a blog.  I love sharing my stories.  And love when others tell me how they love reading what I write.  Along the way...I also discovered all these wonderful ladies that love primitive decorating like I do.  Oh what fun to see their homes, here their stories, and many create their own prims.  It's even inspired me to make a few things on my own.

It may sound sad, lol...but I really  have turned into a homebody.  I love being home.  I love relaxing and sitting in my jammies.  Blogging has allowed me to engage in my "laziness" yet stay social..and enter an entire new world.  I love it.  I love the people I have met along the way.  And I love getting all sorts of new ideas from others.  Whether it be decorating ideas, new things to cook up in my kitchen, or crazy antics of others families!

So thanks Rhea...for inspiring me!

  7. I think starting to blog to write down things kids say is a perfectly good reason. It's one of the reasons I started as well.
